ABOUT THE ARTIST アーティストについて

I began painting during his university years but did not pursue it seriously at the time, as life led him toward other paths. An active participant in the Velvet Revolution of 1989, I experienced firsthand the power of movement, change, and freedom—forces that would later leave permanent marks on my art. 
I lived in London and in many other European cities before I returned to Prague in 2001. After many years away from painting, I returned with the clarity of maturity, life experience, and a deepened sense of purpose. Today, I live and works between Osaka and Dubai, where the dynamic cultural landscapes inspires my ever-evolving creative journey.

大学時代に絵を描き始めましたが、当時は本格的に追求しませんでした。1989年のビロード革命では積極的に参加し、運動、変化、自由の力を身をもって体験しました――それらは後に、私のアートに消えることのない痕跡を残します。

私はロンドンをはじめ多くのヨーロッパの都市で暮らしたのち、2001年にプラハへ戻りました。長いあいだ絵画から離れていましたが、成熟と人生経験、そして深まった使命感とともに再び筆を取りました。現在は大阪とドバイを拠点に生活し、ダイナミックな文化の風景から刺激を受けながら、進化し続ける創作の旅を重ねています。

THE CONCEPT コンセプト

For me, creating art is a meditative journey. Each work begins with an impulse, then is often left untouched for days before I returns to it—patiently allowing it to breathe, evolve, and reveal itself across time. This slow dialogue with the canvas can take weeks, as each layer becomes an act of listening as much as creating.

私にとって、アートの創作は瞑想の旅です。作品は衝動から始まり、しばしば何日も放置された後、再び作品に取り組みます。作品が呼吸し、進化し、時を超えて姿を現すのを辛抱強く待つのです。キャンバスとのこのゆっくりとした対話は、何週間もかかることがあります。なぜなら、それぞれの層は、創造する行為であると同時に、聴く行為にもなるからです。

In my work, shapes and lines are as important as the spaces and emptiness between them. The still white areas hold equal weight to the bold bursts of form, reminding us that silence, pauses, and absence are as meaningful as presence. I invite viewers to look beyond the surface of his art—into the stillness that lies within and behind it. My aim is not only visual impact but an offering of peace: a space where people can rest from the chaos of modern life, rediscover inner balance, and find joy in simplicity.

In essence, my art is both an object and a path—an invitation to journey inward, to welcome stillness, and to feel happiness and calm in the presence of contrast.

私の作品において、形や線は、それらの間の空間や空虚と同じくらい重要です。静止した白い部分は、大胆な形の爆発と同等の重みを持ち、静寂、間、そして不在は存在と同じくらい意味があることを私たちに思い出させます。私は鑑賞者に、作品の表面の奥、つまり作品の内側と背後に潜む静寂を見つめるよう促します。私が目指すのは、視覚的なインパクトだけでなく、安らぎを提供することです。人々が現代生活の混沌から休息し、内なるバランスを取り戻し、シンプルさの中に喜びを見出せる空間です。

JAPANESE INFLUENCE 日本からの影響

Though initially coincidental, Japanese aesthetics and philosophy have become a profound source of resonance in my work. Long before discovering the Japanese concept of Ichigo Ichie—“one time, one meeting”— I was deeply invested in the idea of presence and the uniqueness of every moment. Living in Osaka later, I realized how closely my vision aligned with this philosophy and created the “Ichigo Ichie Live Painting Performance” events, celebrating fleeting beauty and the sacredness of the present.

偶然のように始まったことでしたが、日本の美意識や哲学は、私の作品にとって深い共鳴の源となりました。日本の「一期一会」――「一度きりの出会い」――という概念に出会うずっと以前から、私は「今ここにいること」や、あらゆる瞬間が唯一無二であるという考えに強く惹かれていました。その後大阪で暮らす中で、自分のビジョンがこの哲学と驚くほど近いことに気づき、「一期一会」ライブペインティング・パフォーマンスを創り、儚い美しさと現在の神聖さを祝福するイベントとして育ててきました

ARTIST STATEMENT アーティスト・ステートメント

My art is rooted in the Japanese concept of ichigo ichie — “one time, one meeting” — the understanding that each encounter, each moment, is unrepeatable. I work with large-scale painting and live performance to create spaces where people can slow down, listen, and inhabit the present together.

私のアートの根底には、日本の概念「一期一会」――「一度きりの出会い」――があります。あらゆる出会い、あらゆる瞬間は二度と繰り返せない、という理解です。私は大規模な絵画とライブパフォーマンスを通して、人々が歩みをゆるめ、耳を澄まし、「いま」を共に生きるための空間をつくります。

In my live painting performances, the artwork is born in real time in front of an audience. The room itself becomes a material: shared breath, silence, and subtle shifts in energy guide each gesture. The audience is not merely watching; through their presence and attention, they become co-creators of the piece. Simple sounds — feet moving on paper, the drip of ink, the brush gliding across the surface — form a quiet choreography that invites stillness and introspection.

ライブペインティングでは、作品は観客の目の前でリアルタイムに生まれます。空間そのものが素材となり、共有される呼吸、沈黙、そして微細なエネルギーの変化が、ひとつひとつの所作を導きます。観客はただ見ているだけではありません。存在と注意深さによって、作品の共同制作者となります。紙の上を動く足音、墨の滴り、筆が紙を滑る音――そうした素朴な音が静かな振付となり、内省へと誘います。

A central motif in my work is the circle, a symbol of connection, continuity, and belonging. The circle gathers people, holds them, and reminds us that inside this form, no one is alone. At the end of each performance, the completed painting undergoes a final, deliberate transformation: I gently tear it into many fragments. This act is not about destruction, but about sharing. One circle becomes many; each participant receives a piece to take home, a tangible memory of a moment that cannot be repeated.

私の作品の中心的モチーフは円です。円は、つながり、連続性、帰属を象徴します。人々を集め、包み込み、この形の内側では誰も一人ではないことを思い出させてくれます。各パフォーマンスの終わりに、完成した絵は最後の意図的な変容を受けます。私はそれを丁寧に多くの断片へと裂きます。この行為は破壊ではなく、分かち合いです。ひとつの円が多くの断片へと変わり、参加者はそれを受け取り、二度とない瞬間の確かな記憶を手にします。

Whether presented as a live event or through the fragments and documentation that remain, my work is an invitation to pause and to remember what we often overlook: the depth of a single moment, the quiet bond between strangers, and the possibility of feeling at home, together, in the here and now.

These ideas do not serve as imitation but as deep harmonies: reflections of my own lifelong search for stillness, clarity, and inner peace in a world of chaos. Through them, my art connects East and West, past and present, silence and movement—always guiding the viewer back to the unrepeatable “now.”

これは模倣ではなく、響きです。混沌の世界で、静けさと澄んだ意識、内なる平安を探し続けてきた私自身の反映。私の表現は、東と西、過去と現在、沈黙と動きを結び、観る者を、二度と繰り返されない「いま」へ還していきます。
